Now What?

So, you know who I am. Great. Now what? That’s what I have been thinking about over the last 48 hours. I think that I am going to take a short hiatus from writing on this blog. I have some weighty things on my mind, and I need time to sort them out. Catch you later.

Finally took the time to peruse through your blog & i’m sad to read that you’re giving it up for a while. I have no room to talk though-i haven’t updated mine in months!

Since you’re an attorney, i have a question a/b your profession. For what reason would any attorney voluntarily give up their license?

There are two, and they are interconnected. An attorney would voluntarily give up his/her license to avoid from being disbarred. In addition, in voluntarily giving up their license, it may pave the way for the attorney to seek readmission to the bar at a later date, if and only if said attorney did a lot to ensure the bar examiners that he/she is worthy of a second chance.

Interesting. That’s what i thought. I read where the wife of a politician gave up her license right before taking a job as a legal advisor. Her husband did the same before running for election. Just find that really strange.

My Dad was a corporate attorney & even when he retired from praticing law to start his own business he never let his license expire. It was a big deal to him. My uncle was a US Congresman and i know he kept his license while serving in Washington as well.

Both have since passed so i couldn’t ask them this question, sorry. But thanks for the info. Now i’m even more intrigued.

Why has this piqued your interest?

Politics in general intrigue and interest me – have since i was a child at the dinner table captivated with my father, grandfather & uncles debate endlessly. But i’ve never come across an instance where an officer of the court would voluntarily give up one’s license, especially 2 married attornies, with no explanation, or without a cloud of suspicion lingering.

I am not into conspiracies, quite the contrary actually. Nothing much a politician does surprises me anymore, but this arouses suspicion with me. Maybe i’m making a mountain out of a molehill though.
