My road-trip mix tape
In an effort to help me start pumping out some regular and interesting content, I have joined a website called Plinky.com. Here is my first answer to a question that they have given to me. Enjoy.
Name three songs you’d put on a road trip mix tape.
The vibe of the song is being out in the open. Also, the bass line and the drum beat makes you want to be on the move.
Human Wheels by John Mellencamp
I have always loved John’s work, and it always reminds me of the expansive nature of America both in physicality and in spirit. Plus, the chorus invokes the open road, “Human wheels spin round and round, While the clock keeps the pace.”
99 Problems by Jay-Z
It has a bass line that demands to be played in a car stereo with the volume up to 11. The lyrical flow gives the image of a man in his trusty car with one hand on the wheel, and the other giving the Bronx wave to the haters.
