What a sad story. However, I understand that it is a very common situation for any recovering addict. Sometimes it takes several attempts at recovery before the individual finally remains clean. While researching on the internet I’ve found a lot of helpful resources about drug addiction and recovery on www.addictionca.com

I too work for a public defender's office and am continuously frustrated by the private counsel conundrum. Logically, I know that my clients have the right to hire private counsel - as public defenders, I think we all like to ensure that our clients have the full panoply of individual rights - but I get so frustrated with the mentality that because they're paying for it, it must be better!
