To Tear Asunder the Blogging Veil?

Gideon was writing about the subject of piercing the blogging veil. His article has gotten me to wonder whether the “anonymity” of the Internet is really liberating, or is just an illusion. I am seriously considering ditching the pretense of the pseudonym of “Donzell” and coming clean as to my identity. I am cognizant that I would have to either password protect or redact some of the entries on this journal and how the revelation of my true identity may complicate things in my professional and personal life. Yet, there are times where I tire of being behind this mask, even if it is a mask of my own creation.

Be careful. Remember, once your name is out there you could get fired for something you post. That’s the big scary thing. Thus my continuing anonymity, even though I no longer work for government. Besides, you know you love to rant. You would rather die than edit yourself and you know it. :) (btw, Congrats on getting a whole CrimLaw entry to yourself.)

You are correct about the fact that I love to rant. God, I think it is the only way that I stay sane. Also, I agree with your observation about getting fired for something that I post. I had a scare with that very problem back at my old job when Mr. Solitaire became the boss.

Yeah, I was kinda stoked to see that I got an entire entry on CrimLaw. It made my day.
